At the Beach with Granddad

Chris' Dad is in town this week. The kids have been looking forward to his visit for a long time now. He arrived Monday and was mobbed for the rest of the day. Tuesday, unfortunately, we had some things to do (doctor related) so we didn't go anywhere and Chris recruited his Dad to help him outside for a bit in the afternoon. But, Wednesday was a planned day at the West Branch State Park beach. It's a lovely activity for the kids and they have so much fun. It's a bit of a drive for us-40 minutes, but it's free and not usually too crowded on the weekdays. We arrived around 11am and ended up not leaving until nearly 4:45. (In all honesty, it takes a while to get everyone changed and ready to leave, though!)

The boys spent a large portion of morning/early afternoon playing in the shallows around the beach

David was being a beached Elasmasaurus, I think.

Granddad did not lack for company...

David collecting his seaweed. :-P

Grace being an Elasmasaurus

Graci spent a large part of her day floating

During lunch, a huge plane flew overhead. I only had time to turn on the camera and take a shot on the fly (bwahaahaahaaa....) so I didn't get a good enough shot for me to even know what it was.

Granddad was soooooo bored....

You'd think Ruth was in a very tiny ocean...thanks to the boats that passed by all day long.

Chris got in on the action, too, throwing the girls into the water over and over and over and...

Grace's turn...she grinned the whole way through it

Ruth giving Chris pointers on how to throw them (she is so dang bossy) and Graci coming back for more...
