And Today We Drag Granddad to the Zoo!

Not wanting to stay home and listen to the children fight over who got to play the Wii and who had more time than the others and who "never gets to play! waaahhhh, waaahhhh....". So, we packed a lunch, packed the kids and headed to the zoo. We'd been wanting to get back ever since the new carousel opened. The kids and I were there when it was in it's first day of assembly and they've been eager to return to actually ride it.

Granddad being told all about the Humboldt Penguins

Come see this, Granddad!!

Obviously Graci did not get the memo that today was a brown day.

Taking Granddad along on the rope bridge

But he didn't make it without incident

Not the kids, nor Granddad, but the Capybara had babies!

And there was some kind of itty bitty snake in the water. The kids were very concerned for it's survival.

We lost Byron along the way...

But, we finally got to the carousel

Granddad and Byron waiting to go

Ruth, totally not sure of this thing-and it wasn't even moving yet.

Fearless David on the largest animal of the ride

Grace, hanging on for dear life

Making up the animals' meals in the "kitchen"

Riding the train, too-boy were they spoiled today!

Even though the day was really hot, the kids were constantly sitting on Graddad as soon as he sat down. I was so glad it wasn't me they were sitting on.
