Diamond Park
Yesterday, Chris emailed to say, why don't we take the kids to the Park after work? It had been a bad day for schooling, mostly in that we just didn't get much variety accomplished (though we really hit the English hard with Ruth). An evening at the park was just what I needed, in the end.

Chris and the girls headed one way on the mile-long loop...
And the boys and I headed the other way.
They did really well, all things considered. eg they had never ridden their trikes on the path at the park (steering and staying straight and all that) and they were very interested in what was going on around them which led to a few incidents. Here, David runs off the path because he's looking sideways and Byron quickly followed after.
But, they righted themselves and continued on.
We had gotten about a quarter of the way around, when we met up with Chris and the girls. Ruth did really great meeting up and stopping. Grace was still pretty wobbly and ended up running into Byron. She got really nervous when she had to pass anyone on the path.
The boys did the entire loop. 1 mile. I was really surprised. We stopped at the playground to wait for Chris and Boo to get done. Ruth had done 3 laps already and stopped to play with us.
The only good shot I have of Grace on the playground. The back of her head. Even after riding 3 miles, she was running the rest of the night. This was as still as I could catch her and it was when she was hiding on the slide with Ruthie.
