Last Week's Storm In the Night

Last week we read Storm in the Night. It was about a boy and his grandfather and they were talking during a thunder storm. The power was off, so the boy was noticing that when he can't see, his sense of hearing is increased as well as smell. Then, his grandfather tells him a story of when he was a boy and frightened by storms. So, this week we talked some more about Onomatopoeias, cloud formation, facial expressions, sources of light and we also did some "quilt math" where Ruth and I colored the different shapes on the quilt and then counted the number of triangles, squares and rectangles.
