First Night with Mr. B

Well, we've passed our first night with Mr. B. He came around 5:15 (they were running late). He came in just fine and started talking. However, once the social worker went outside to get his things, he started to cry, poor boy. He came with a tiny little bag of toys and a garbage bag of clothes. She gave him a hug and left and he cried and cried...for about a minute. Then he went over and started to play with the kids. They played pretty well while I made dinner. Dinner was a different affair. Mr B did not want to eat. So he didn't. But he sat with us. And talked and talked and talked. Boy, can he talk! And, I can only understand about 10% of what he says. At one point, he turned to David and was yammering on and on to him about something (we have no idea what) and David's face was so comical. It was just utterly blank. At the end of his talking, David said "B, I have no idea what you just said." Out of the mouths of babes, eh? Needless to say, B needs speech therapy. If you don't believe me, just wait until you meet him! Anyway, he did sit nicely for dinner and he did sing occasionally, "I'm mad...I'm mad....I'm mad..." But, then he'd perk up and start yammering away again. He played with the kids and had a bath and went to bed without much fuss. David told me this morning that B did get up a few times to look out the window, but I didn't hear him, so it must not have been too distracting. And, thus ended the first day with B. I will also mention that when we did go through his bag of clothes, approximately 3/4 of it is too small and the other 1/4 remains to be seen. He's a really big boy-bigger than David. Last night, after I bathed the kids, I put B in a pair of David's pjs. They are 4T. And they are really tight in the height. The 2 pairs of pj's they sent for him were sized 2T and 3T. I don't think he could have walked upright in those. Good grief!
