The Great Groundhog Extermination
Being a resident of suburbia, we have our quaint little house not far from city life. It's a pretty good situation, really. Almost the best of both worlds. However, someone forgot to tell the groundhogs that they are not welcome to live under my porch. Apparently they did not get the memo. I've done everything I can to make it known that they are not welcome. Yet, year after year, they insist upon living there and procreating as well. It's rather annoying. I spent yesterday planting my brains out and what do I have tonight? Stubs. Stubs. I'm on the warpath now. Yesterday, one of the little boogers fell in our window well. I...ahem....took care of him. He's been relocated to our trashcan. Then, just this evening, I was coming home from the store. Mama and two babies were grazing in our lawn. I gunned the engine, just for giggles. Mama took off running, pushing her baby out of the way in her quest to dive into the hole under the porch. Baby was in hot pursuit. I laughed, thinking how much fun it had been to see them run, when I saw the second baby, coming from the right...and there was no way for me to stop. He's residing in our trashcan now, too. I've set the live trap. Two down, three to go...
