It's Easier to Earn a Spankin'

Tonight at dinner, we were talking about earning a lizard. I have little gummy, stretchy lizards that the kids can earn, sometime, unknown to them, by being good. They won't know until it happens. So, David asks:

"If I'm good when I go with Daddy tomorrow, can I earn a lizard?" to which Ruth replies "You don't know when you'll earn a lizard." And Chris pipes up with "you could earn a spanking". Then, Ruth so wisely says "it's easier to earn a spankin' than a lizard". Isn't she so in touch with reality?
