Playing at Grandpa and Grandma's House
Today, we headed down to my mom and dad's house for the day. We hadn't seen them since Ruth's birthday and we were eager to get together with them. Byron had only seen them twice since coming to live with us and we wanted him to get to know them better as well. Since the weather was looking nice, we thought a day in the country would be a great way to spend a Saturday. Mom and Dad kept us thoroughly entertained all day.

Whenever we take a ride in the 6wheeler, we have a certain path we take. It includes this tree, which is mostly dead. There is a possum that lived there and so when we pass it, the kids all shout "Hello Mr. Possum!!"

We had such a good time today. The kids ran themselves ragged both in the house and out. We had an early dinner and I had time to bathe the kids and put them in pj's before we came home. (I usually bring pj's for the kids when we plan to be late at Mom and Dad's-makes coming home easier. Just pop them into bed.) I think Byron had a really good time as well. He really opened up to Mom and Dad, sat on Mom's lap to have her read him a story and was completely willing to give them both really big hugs when we left. He even asked if we could spend the night. I think he's adjusting rather well.

Playing in the sandbox
Deep concentration on filling the bucket
David sifting out the rocks. I'm not sure why this was his designated job, but he loved it none the less
Burying the train
Getting ready to ride the "yellow truck" with Grandpa and I (ftr, I'm not sure what's up with David here.)

Random shot-I sat up front and just aimed the camera back towards the kids to see what I could get
Random shot
Another random shot-every so often, Ruth would shout "Duck!!" and everyone would duck down. Dave was a little late on that one.
Random shot-I can't tell if David is scared or having fun
Random shot-David is still looking scared...
