The Five Senses Lapbook

A few weeks ago, Ruth worked on a lapbook for the five senses. We got together with another friend who homeschoools and completed activities to tie in with the book. We had the kids taste foods with their eyes covered and their noses plugged and then unplugged and we recorded each time what food they thought they were eating. We had them sit blindfolded and try to identify various sounds and where they came from. And, we then had them remain blind folded and they had to find each other from across the house. I had Ruth sit on a stool and Gabriel had remain blindfolded and find her by sound and touch. It was pretty funny to watch. Ruth could talk to him to help him along, but she could not give clues as to where she was. We wanted to demonstrate how to cope with the loss of a sense (or at least as best as we could!).
