Then, We Wake Up to Rain

I'm thankful that we brought rain gear. I'm also wishing that I had some. We woke to rain the next morning. Nothing thrills me more than rain while I'm camping. Ok, not really. I try really hard not to be bothered by it, but the fact is, it does bother me. I despise being wet. It's so very uncomfortable. At any rate, it was raining. Pretty hard at times, too. So, the kids spent the morning in their raincoats and boots stomping about the camp site and playing with their bubbles while I seated myself on top of the picnic table, far above the muddy ground, and read a novel as I swept water off the tarp with the mallet. It made for a charming picture.

The boys were very proud of the bubble they got to stick to the tent pole. Look very closely.

I have no idea what they were plotting, nor do I want to know.

Chris wasn't too crazy about the rain either.

But he snapped out of it.

Ruth donned her rain coat and then remarked, "I hate hoods."

With all that soothing rain, Grace didn't even bother to get up until about 10am. She had some lovely hair as well.

But soon, she joined the boys and whiled away the hours blowing bubbles onto David's head.

He didn't seem to mind.
