And We Set Up Camp Again...

Saturday found us packing up and heading out. It was a sad morning. The kids said goodbye to new friends and old ones. It was particularly poignant to see Grace's little friend call her name, come running across the way and say, "Goodbye Gracie! I'll miss you! See you next year!" This year was the first time I saw the girls go their separate ways and hang out with different friends. It was such a growing up moment. /sniff/ /sniff/ Ok. I'm ok.

We spent the weekend with friends, unpacking our stuff, washing, drying, repacking and preparing for another camping trip. This time, it was what the kids came to refer to as "relaxed camping". I can't imagine where they heard such a phrase.

We left Monday afternoon and drove a short distance to Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park and prepared to set up camp.

I tell you what, those Canadians sure know how to mark an entrance.

We began setting up camp in the late afternoon. I am not particularly quick at this and I found it a most stressful and long afternoon. Thankfully, Cindy was cooking dinner and I helped clean up dishes. I'm going to have to work on the ol' quick factor for setting up camp.

Ruth lends a hand with the tarp. The forecast was calling for rain on one day and we wanted to be prepared.

Grace lends a hand, Where's Waldo style

David hides under the table after being severely reprimanded. For what now, I can't recall. I just remember I was really angry with his behavior.

Byron shows Chris how to properly install a tent peg. First you squat in an impossible position...

Now, just who thought it was a good idea to give Gracie a mallet??

Dave emerges to give a shot to beating in a tent peg...nowhere near the tent.
