Farm Field Trip

Chris took the day off work and we took the kids to visit the farm of one of the families in our meeting. There was quite a group of us there-15 kids from 11 months-11years and the 7 adults that tried to corral them. It was a cool day, but I think the kids had fun. We toured the farm, learned a little bit about farming, picked pumpkins and corn, took a hay ride, had a little snack and ended it with a ride in a combine.

Waiting at the house for everyone to arrive.

Checking out the silo

Giving the rabbit some lovin'

The pigs. Yum.

Visiting the goats (and calves, too, but they didn't get a picture)

Byron picked this pumpkin for Baby since he couldn't walk or pick his own.

Ruth in the pumpkin patch

David loved picking pumpkins

Gracie picked way more than I realized at the time

And David was hoarding Indian corn

Byron, picking his corn

We got to sit in the greenhouse to have our snack. It felt so toasty warm after being outside in the cold.

The combine! He was harvesting soybeans that day.

The boys getting ready for their ride

I went with the boys-this is the view from the cab looking down

Gracie sneaked off to wash her pumpkins in the bathroom after we got home

Ahhh....the first fire of the season! It felt so good after our cold day.
