A Followup for David
Today David had a followup appointment with his pediatrician to check on his recovery. She listened to his lungs and said they were still gunky and not clear, so we have to continue his albuterol as well as extend his prednisone. She decided to check his O2 sats and initially he was hovering around 90% (which not good) but after a minute or two, he topped out at 94% (still not great, but doable and not requiring a return to the hospital). We have another appointment scheduled for next week where he will be checked again and we'll going to discuss a treatment plan to hopefully avoid such sicknesses in the future. The pediatrician strongly recommended a flu shot for him and though I generally don't have the kids get them, we're going to make an exception this year. She also said that he most likely has some form of asthma, hence his getting sick and it ending up pneumonia. I'm anxious to hear what our "treatment plan" will include. I did a little reading and it can be so widely varied. :/
