A Lincoln Assassination Presentation

Last Friday, the kids had the day off school for a special presentation. Ok, so they had the day off, but not really since I made them do Friday's work on Thursday. But, anyway, back to Friday. My sister-in-law has a neighbor that has a real fascination with Lincoln's assassination and the escape and capture of John Wilkes Booth. He had put together a presentation about it some years ago (think 70's) and has presented it many times over the years. He was so good about coming to our co-op and giving the presentation to our group of 6-11 yr olds.

Waiting for the presentation to begin-this was our core group. The preK's were together a little off where they could listen, but not interrupt the older kids' learning.

Showing us a newspaper from the time shortly after Lincoln's assassination. He's fairly certain it was authentic-very cool.

He had mapped out the route of John Wilkes Booth and presented that as well.

Afterward, the kids worked on a craft whilst lunch was being finished up.
