Tuscora Park
Chris had/has been working like crazy the last few weeks. We've hardly seen him, but this day, he took off and we had a day out with the kids. We took them to Pizza Hut for lunch (they love that place) and then we hit the park. Tuscora park is not terribly close to home, so we don't get there often. In fact, the last time we took the kids there was July 2007. That year, the playground was being redone and there was going to be a large train playset. The kids have not forgotten that and have talked about it every year since. We finally took them to play on it. I thought there was a pretty good chance it was done by now.

Grace and Byron had a blast talking to each other via the tubes
Ruth was chillin' out on her spiderweb
Somewhere along the line, we picked up a stray. He appeared to be an only and his mom spent the whole time on her cell phone. No wonder he joined our motley crew. His name was David, too.
This slide was a particular favorite. After using it the conventional way for some time, Grace decided to go down like a dog. Unfortunately, she is too little to give much thought to just how quickly roller bars go. She shot down to the end and straight off the edge....giggling madly the whole time.
David and Chris talking on the horn
No, it's not a shower head. Ruth found another mode of communication.
Despite Grace's colossal stunt, Byron headed down head first. But, he had Grace's experience on his side and he caught himself with his hands as he went off the bottom. This became quite a favorite way to go down the slide.
As we were leaving, the boys became mesmerized by the leaf sucker. David asked me to take a video of it, but I'll leave off posting it because it is rather noisy.
This picture was just too stinkin' cute to leave off
