And We Attend a Wedding

I have to say, weddings are not always the most fun for the kids. They are usually expected to be quiet and behaved and not run about. Now, I feel for the kids, I really do. Weddings make me want to run around and scream, too. But, I'm an adult and as such, I try to contain myself. The kids did really great, though. The ceremony was short and sweet and we all adjourned to the reception hall shortly after for refreshments and some down time. Even though the kids are getting bigger, I still packed an assortment of items for the day. I've been to enough weddings to know that you can sit for quite some time waiting for pictures to be taken. The older kids amused themselves with their friends (we let them sit together) and some coloring pages that I'd brought along as well as indulging in plates of cheese, pretzels and fruit. Oh and the plastic champagne cups. The boys thought those were just the best thing since sliced bread. Remember in Sleeping Beauty, when the two kings are toasting each other and their children and anything they can think of? That was my really my boys.

To help pass the time while we waited for the bride and groom to get their pictures done, we took the kids outside to run in the back of the parking lot. This was great and I only wished we had thought of it sooner. All their little friends from meeting were there and it gave them all a chance to run around and not have to be quiet or still.

My lovely ladies, checking out the wine cups.

My handsome boys, doing much the same. Except, well, Byron is actually fogging up the cup. He thought that was wildly hilarious.

Andrew in his natural habitat...dirt.

David, trying to run on the cement parking barriers. Not the best of ideas there, son, as you aren't known for your amazing coordination.

Jo, sweet Jo. Adored by babies and my kids alike.

What? You didn't say two cookies, but ONE!? I really brought that other one for you...!

The crew minus Andrew (he was probably still in the dirt).
