Waiting at the Hospital

David and I are chilling out at the hospital right now. He woke this morning with a low fever and a cough. Seemed ok for a while, but by 10am he was CRABBY!! So, I sent him to bed. At 1pm, I finally woke him, only to find him burning up with a 102.? fever, a raging headache and sore throat and he was breathing really rapidly. I talked to Chris and he thought we should get him seen. A trip to the doctor, and she thought he had pneumonia. We got a chest x-ray done and it was thought that he did indeed have pneumonia. His puls-ox was at 84% and a subsequent breathing treatment only brought it up to 88-90% and he needed to be at 95% to go home and not be hospitalized. And, so here we are. The doctors here at the hospital believe that the doctors at our pediatrician's office read the x-ray wrong and saw scarring from his heart surgery and that he does not have pneumonia at all. But, they don't know what is wrong. His breathing comes down with breathing treatments (and several in a row), but now, about 2 hours post treatment, his respiration is back up again. We just got back from having an iv put in, as well as blood drawn. They're going to give him an antibiotic "just in case, since we don't know what is wrong". I thought he would freak out and fight it, but he just laid there and let them do it. He didn't even wimper. He's such a trooper. Will keep you posted when I know something.
