Reading Maps
I have a small collection of map inserts from various and sundry National Geographic magazines. They are an eclectic collection and for the most part I haven't had a reason to use them. The other day, the kids asked to get them out and I allowed it, though in hindsight, I probably should have monitored their usage a little better. But, that's neither here nor there. This is the really amusing part.

Byron peruses the migratory routes of birds.
I overheard the girls planning an escape route...
David was fascinated by his map of Africa
and Ruth is looking over the battles of the Civil War.
