Hill Billy Neighbors
You know, the ones that constantly have their kids' toys in the yard. The ones that never mow when that single day of sunshine in weeks of rain pops up. The ones that have potholes and patches of grass missing from their front yards. Ugh. They are such a sight for this neighborhood of well trimmed lawns and flowering bushes. They be we. We're the ones with bikes, trikes, animals, buckets, shovels, diggers and backhoes lining the walk. Piles of bricks just waiting to become a border to the flower beds-if they ever get weeded again. The grass that just doesn't get mowed until it is nearly necessary to bring out the tractor and the brush hog. Oh yes. We are bringing down the values of all our neighbors' houses! And proud of it! After all, why bother to put away all that stuff and mow the grass when it's just going to get brought out again and grow again? Besides, I have kids to school a house to clean (once in a while) and therapies to attend. And our grass can wait. After all, today Miss A and David sat on my lap and beside them were the girls. We were looking at a slideshow of baby zoo animals. They were all ohing and awing over them. Then David and Miss A were both kissing me over and over and laughing and laughing. I just didn't feel like mowing the lawn right now. I can wait a week or two.
