A Visit to the Eye Doctor
After having a well check last week, Grace now has a round of appointments to see other doctors. She didn't really pass the vision test, so today we saw the opthamologist to get a better idea of what was going on. He said her eyes looked healthy, but that she does have quite a bit of astigmatism. So, we're going to come back in a month for another check. In the mean time, I'm to work with her on the E chart and make sure that she knows how to tell them which way they are pointing. No sense in giving the girl glasses if she's just confused about the whole E thing.
Friday Grace has an appointment with the cardiologist. Yes, the cardiologist. During her check, the pediatrician heard a murmur. Now, Grace did have an ASD when she was born and it was mostly closed at 6 months and not detectable by stethoscope. I was to bring her back at one year old for another check and failed to do that. So, that pesky murmur has come back and we head up to have it checked out. She (the pediatrician) does not seem concerned about it, so I'm not too worried. I figure had it been bad, she would have gotten us a much closer appointment than waiting almost 2 weeks after the well check.
