Texas Trip Day 10-Sunday

Sunday morning, the kids enjoyed a hot breakfast courtesy of our upgrade.  They really are spoiled rotten.  We decided to take the Metro downtown to view the arch and associated tourist destinations.  We started our walk in a light drizzle that quickly turned to a nice, steady rain.  After jumping from building to building in an effort to avoid the rain, we ran back to the hotel to wait it out.  The metro station was only a few blocks away, but once we got downtown, we still had to walk in the rain.  We waited about an hour and found the walk to be much more pleasant and it included a lot less rain.  The metro ride took about 25 minutes.  25 minutes where the kids talked non-stop and probably annoyed the pants off the other riders.  (Well, I mean riders besides me.)

Grace and Ruth were just thrilled that we let them stand instead of making them sit.

We made it to the arch!  

We took the tram to the top.  It was this cute little egg-shaped car that whisked us up hundreds of feet up to the top of the arch.

Ruth did not enjoy the ride all that much.
