Ruth's First Sewing Project

Ruth has been begging me to teach her to sew. All this dress sewing I've been doing is not helping matters either. So, I took a break from sewing the other day to work on a dress for Ruthie's doll. Now, these pictures make it look like she is just doing her thing, working away. But, I'll have you know that it took great restraint for me to stand back and let her work. It was really, really hard. Really hard. I knew I could do it better and faster. But, I had to stand back. So, without further ado...

Cutting out her dress. I have to say, I did tell her to stop picking up the fabric after I took the picture.

Time for snaps. Her first attempt at hand sewing, too.

The finished product. She got real shy about that part. She didn't like how it turned out. Because it wasn't completely perfect. My little perfectionist. Gotta have it perfect on the first try.
