Thanksgiving

This year, I cooked Thanksgiving dinner and the family came here to eat. In most of the years past, my mom has done the cooking and we've gone to her house for dinner. I was in a flurry of preparing, though most of it could be done before the actual day and just popped into the oven for actual baking. The flurry came more from prepping for our upcoming trip to Maryland and cleaning up from our trip to New Jersey the week before. Oh and making sure the house wasn't a death trap for our house sitter. So, Thanksgiving Day dawned cool and with the potential for rain. The kids were bouncing off the walls because Uncle Cliff and Grandma and Grandpa would descend upon us in just a few short hours. I wanted to keep them busy for 10 minutes or so, so during breakfast, I told them I thought they should make place cards for the table. They were most enthusiastic about this, so I made up a template and printed it out for them to color and label.

Byron did his own card. He wasn't nearly as sold on this idea as the rest of the kids were.

Byron and Boo have cornered Grandpa. Yes, Boo is wearing shorts. Yes, that's just crazy for Thanksgiving in Ohio.
