Thanksgiving Co-op
Co-op, the week of Thanksgiving, consisted of a "special" day where we recessed all regular classes and took on a day of studies about the Separatists and the subsequent "First" Thanksgiving. Each teacher took on a different subject and we rotated groups of kids through the classes. Carolyn cleverly slipped in math while doing a cooking class with the kids. Amy did a craft with the kids, Amanda taught about the origins of the Separatists and the trip across the ocean and I picked up where she left off with the first year and Thanksgiving. Our classes were short and did not leave much time for debunking much of the myth surrounding Thanksgiving, but there is time for that. ;)
Carolyn and Byron cooking
Getting their biscuits ready for baking
Crowded into their ship space on board the Mayflower
Amy crafting with our PreK's
Our "feast"-we tried for authentic as much as we possibly could
Turkey, different pumpkin dishes, blueberries and cranberries
Squash and leftover seafare-dried beef and hard tack, with a side of lemon to fight the scurvy
Fish-oh yum.
Venison, lima beans, cornbread and under the towels, biscuits. Towards the end of the line, we had less authentic foods
Our crowd getting the lunchtime instructions (ie, let the little kids in first, you pigs)

Our group, feasting
