December-A Recap
Clearly I've been MIA for quite some time, as evidenced by the 3 month silence on the ol' blogaroo. So, I'm going to bring us all up to speed on what the kiddos have been doing.
David turns 6. I'm thrilled he chose an ice cream cake that I didn't have to make. ;)
On December 23rd, we were joined by triplets for one night. They were the baby sibs of the boy we were fostering and it was an emergency placement. They just needed a home for one night. It was a tiring, but fun night. They left in the afternoon and I bundled the kids up and we drove out to the farm of some friends from meeting. They were giving sleigh rides and I thought the kids would really enjoy it. The day was amazingly cold, made even more so by the wind whipping about the sleigh as we rode.
Afterward, we warmed ourselves with a little hot chocolate.
Christmas Eve, I tried to send a little message to the kids...Believe it or not, they got it and I slept in until 10am.
The girls and I made these totally cute, but ridiculously complicated snowman cookies. They were a hit and I have a feeling they'll want to make them again next year.
The girls, icing the cookies.
Step 2-warm marshmallows until they just start to puff
Fix onto the cookie and add a few bits of chocolate for buttons
Pipe on some icing and viola! Melting snowmen!
Christmas Eve at my parent's house. The kids are patiently waiting for their gifts.
